First They Came For The Guns...

I don't often "steal" other's posts, but occasionally there are some too good not to share. Like this one from Monkey in the Middle.

First They Came For The Guns...
And took them out of their hands in Great Britain. They promised the population that they would be safe, that crime would reduce to almost nothing. It didn't happen. In fact, crime increased. Crime with knives increased. So now they will ban the knife.

The good news is that if we ever do get that assault rifle ban, followed by a handgun ban, followed by a ban of anything that can shoot bullets, the “Banners” will still have a banner year of banning all the other ways with which people kill other people.

Violent crimes haven’t gone away with the UK’s gun control.
They've actually gone up.

Britons suffer 1,158,957 violent crimes per year, which works out at 2,034 per 100,000 residents. The U.S., meanwhile, has a rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, which is lower than France’s, at 504.

Instead of gun crime, the UK worries about knife crime. And has been practicing knife control.

Read the rest of the post here to see how they're discussing banning kitchen knives now!

"How did it come to this?"

The level of ignorance in America today astounds me. It seems the majority of people don't know a thing about history, don't know what Socialism is, and have no idea what tyranny looks like in its infancy. Sure, there is a portion of the people who know all these things exactly, but it seems that their message is only heard by those who already believe it and ignored by the masses. It frustrates me greatly to see parallels between history and America today; parallels of tyranny, absolutism, nationalism, socialism. Parallels to horrors, death, and slavery.

Yet most ignore it, choose not to believe it, or honestly think it can't happen here or to them. And if the majority, or even half, of the population refuses to face reality, then what can the informed do? What can those who believe America is headed into times possibly darker than any in history do about it? It seems trying to spread knowledge is the only recourse. But the majority won't listen. And it's damn frustrating.

But honestly, it isn't any different from most of human history. In the 1700's, half of the population of the American colonies refused to believe Britain needed to be rebelled against...until British warships brought troops to America.

In the 1930's, people in Germany welcomed the rise of the Nazis. In Austria, 98% of the population voted to become a part of Nazi Germany thinking it would be better for them. Five years later people were being rounded up and sent to Concentration Camps. In the meantime, the people gladly gave up their guns in order to comply with their new government's wishes. When Jews were forbidden to own guns, they gave them up. 11 million people were killed in Death Camps.

In the 1920's in Turkey, Armenians gave up their guns to the new Muslim government. Millions of them, 3/4 of the Armenian population, were then slaughtered.

In the 1930's in Russia, the Soviet government forced the population to register all their firearms, then used the lists to confiscate them all. Millions were killed or starved to death.

All throughout history, the natural inclination of humanity has been to obey their governments' every decree. In an attempt to remain peaceful, humans do what they are told...and then when they end up victims to violent or tyrannical leadership they ask, "How did this happen?"

History repeats itself, and those who don't know it are doomed to repeat it. I personally believe America is on an unchangeable path towards some bad times. Yet no one seems to care. If things come to pass like I think they will, these same people will one day cry out, "How did it come to this?"

It seems to be human nature to choose ignorance over liberty. Can we expect America to possibly turn out any differently?

And Time's Person of the Year is.........

Da da da!! It's Barack Hussein Obama!!! (Act surprised.)

Yes, our illustrious leader beat out the likes of
Malala Yousafzai (a troublemaker who tries to challenge male dominance), Tim Cook (a guy who got famous by inheriting someone else's work), Mohamed Morsi (the new Egyptian dictator), and Fabiola Gianotti (a scientist who may [or may not have; more tests need to be done until it's actually confirmed...but hey, I guess they needed another woman who wasn't an unruly troublemaker] discovered a particle...although to be fair she had a whole team, but it's person of the year not team of the year so screw you other guys) to take home this year's illustrious title of Time's Person of the Year!

And not a more well deserving person is there! I mean, he has single-handedly wiped out global terrorism, turned the extreme Muslims into peaceful, loving people, made it possible for all poor people to have phones not be poor anymore, eradicated racism, sexism, fascism, and every other -ism really, cured the human condition, and has united all countries, races, species, and ideologies to create one world; one love for all the rest of time. And with another four years to work with, I hear he's set his sights on reversing global warming, curing cancer (and the common cold), and bringing sabre-tooth tigers back from extinction. What fun that will be!?

But seriously, I stopped thinking Time's Person of the Year was anything special when Adolf Hitler won it in 1938.

I see not much has changed in the past 70 years. They clearly still have a monkey make their picks...but really, who doesn't love a monkey?

Hillary Clinton skipping Benghazi hearings...again.

Boy, it's such a good thing there was a mass shooting on Friday, so that the media complex can have an excuse for completely ignoring this pile of horse manure spewing out of the Obama Administration. As I recall, Hillary couldn't make the first hearing either because she was at a wine tasting with friends in Australia.

Now this load of mularky (as Joe Biden would put it) is her excuse?? She fell down and hit her head so, sorry Congress, you can't get any answers about why American diplomats are dead. Hillary has taken all the responsibility, you remember, but she won't say what exactly she actually knows. Why should the peons that are the American populace need to be informed about anything their government does? It's become totally acceptable for our government to lie, hide, and obfuscate facts in order to do their work in the dark. We in America still hold the fallacy that our government is beholden to us...but our leaders are quickly making that notion a thing of the past. How long until they just start telling Congress "no, we won't answer you" instead of making up not-so-clever lies? It shouldn't be long at this rate. I mean, they are giving her a pass for a "concussion."

Now maybe most people don't know, but I've had at least one concussion when I was younger. It was just a mild one, but I wasn't in bed a week later ignoring the world. Heck, I've known guys who had serious concussions when I was in highschool and two days later, they were back in school, headache and all. Professional athletes PLAY with concussions (though I wouldn't recommend that). Yet Hillary is unable to sit in a comfy chair for two hours in order to answer some questions about the life and death of brave Americans because she has a headache!? Take some damn tylenol!

And she is going to be our next president!? Is Russia accepting American refugees? At least there they understand that their leaders are corrupt...plus they've already done the Socialism thing so you know they won't go back to the mess we are heading straight towards!

Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say;
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"This is heaven," declared a small boy. "We're spending Christmas at God's house."
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior. The children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name;
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring.
Those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below;
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"May this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back My nation. I'm taking back My schools!"
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"Come now, My children, let Me show you around."
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran,
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

The G-- Problem in America

This country has a problem. This problem starts with a 'G' and has been getting incrementally worse. We try to remove this 'G' problem from the home. We try to remove this 'G' problem from the schools. We want to remove this 'G' problem from every facet of public life. We think this will make us better. We think it will cause more harmony and less strife. And things will be better in America if we just remove this problem.

No, the problem we have is not a gun problem. The problem we have is a God problem. Gun laws are more stringent than they have ever been, yet more shootings continue to happen. God laws are also more stringent. No prayer allowed in school, on the football field, in the office. The Ten Commandments are removed from public buildings. Lawsuits are filed against towns, companies, and schools to stop even the very word of God to be spoken. For 30 years this has been told it makes us better; more tolerant; more inclusive.

As the next few days go by, the word "gun" will be talked about ad nauseam. But that is not the 3-letter word beginning with a 'G' that should be talked about. After the Colorado theater shooting, Mike Huckabee said that "this country doesn't have a gun problem, it has a sin problem. We've removed God from every aspect of public life and then we get surprised when all hell breaks loose."

As I learned about the horrid tragedy that occurred in Connecticut today, I was reminded of the words of Jesus recorded in Matthew 24:12: Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.

As we have turned our back on God, we have sown in sin and wallowed in iniquity. As we abandon "Judeo-Christian" principles, we have accepted moral ambiguity. We have declared that we don't need God, and that we will decide what is right and wrong. Well, you reap what you sow, and when you sow in sin you will reap only in evil. Yes this country has a problem. But it's a God problem, not a gun problem.

The Hot-Dog Man Cometh

The news the past few days seems to be oversaturated with the Right-To-Work vote, and the surrounding mayhem, going on in Michigan. Which I have been mostly ignoring.

There really seems to be no big issue to me. If people have the option to join a union or not based on their own decision...well that doesn't seem like such a bad thing, for either party. I get that unions would prefer people be forced into the union so they can get union dues from everyone, but having it be an individual's choice really wouldn't affect the unions all that much. After all, isn't giving an individual a choice a good thing, and inherently American? I don't like being forced into anything. (Like health insurance.)

I mean, I was in the union when I worked for UPS, so I understand some of the benefits of being in a union. My first week there I got chewed out by a higher up for making a simple mistake and I was afraid I'd get fired, the way he was talking. But my union rep calmly explained that it happens to everyone and I'd be ok and it was a relief to have him there. And after working there a little while I understood how the union protected people from being fired for simple mistakes.

If people have a choice whether to join a union or not, sure some will choose to not join. And sure the union will lose out on some dues from workers. But honestly, people will be able to see the benefits of being in the union after a short time, and if the union does some simple campaigning, they could get the majority of people working to decide to join the union anyway. So really, this is not a big deal. At all.

Yet, the unions have decided that it is a big deal, and that it's big enough to get really nasty about it. They have assaulted people, overrun the Capitol building, and now the worst of all crimes: attacked the innocent.

Clint Tarver is a hot-dog vendor who has become somewhat of a celebrity in Lansing, Michigan. Not only does he sell some mighty tasty hot dogs, he is apparently a pretty awesome dude as well. He talks to everyone. Even dogs. He feeds the homeless. He thinks it's important to remember people's names. He is all that is right with America. And the other day, simply because he was serving hot dogs to the people who opposed the unions, he was attacked. His vending cart was destroyed. He was called vile racial slurs. All because the union goons thought he was on the other side. He said himself later that he's on no one's side; he was just selling hot dogs like he has for over ten years.

The Daily Caller has a great article about Tarver and the incident here: Tea Party thugs destroy black man's business

The union thugs who have decided to make a mountain of a mole hill may not know who is on the opposing side...but their "scorched earth" policy of violence and hate-mongering has made one thing certain: they're gonna have a lot more people opposed to them now than they ever were if they had just treated this like the non-issue it should be.

Proposed Army manuel tells G.I.s not to insult Taliban, speak up for women

So the new proposed handbook for Americans serving in Afghanistan warns soldiers that a number of attacks on coalition forces were caused by "ignorance of, or lack of empathy for, Muslim and/or Afghan cultural norms" and in order to halt such attacks, the soldiers must be sure to not offend the "Muslim and/or Afghan" by avoiding some "taboo conversation topics." These topics include "making derogatory comments about the Taliban," "advocating women's rights," "any criticism of pedophilia," "directing any criticism toward Afghans," "mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct" or "anything related to Islam." So I guess the ham Christmas dinner is out?

This is absolutely insane. It's already a damn shame that thousands of soldiers have died for what will amount to not a damn thing when we pull out of Afghanistan allowing the Taliban to waltz back in and take over again like we we're never there, but now we are forcing the soldiers that are still there to be nice to the Taliban!?! Maybe 11 years is a long time for people's painfully short attention spans to remember, but the Taliban ARE THE BAD GUYS!!

The Taliban are the strict Muslim sect that restrict individual liberty. They're the ones who shot the 14 year old girl because she had the audacity to want an education. They're the ones who gave safe haven to Osama bin Laden, al quada, and other groups who plan and carry out plots to murder innocent people in order to spread fear. I know the word is hardly used anymore...but those are called terrorists. The Taliban are the group that women were protesting on the television show 7th Heaven a few years before 2001 because they are notorious violators of women's rights. (Yes, I watched 7th Heaven when I was a teenager. Jessica Biel was in it. 'Nuff said.) Because women have no rights to them; they're just property.

And now...now we are not only allowing them to abuse women, children, and anyone else they want to in the name of Sharia Law, but we're not even aloud to criticize them for it! You're telling me if a soldier sees a 12 year old girl being married off to a 40 year old, or being violently abused or even murdered because she didn't want to marry a 40 year old...that the soldier can't do or SAY a damn thing about it because it might offend a pedophile!?! Are. You. Serious!? What a bloody crock! Someone needs the smart smacked back into them!

So now I guess our soldiers are fighting in order to enslave people and not to free them anymore. So everyone has basic human liberties...except the Afghan people who only deserve to be enslaved by a deadly and repressive culture. Glad America has finally given up on that whole "liberty for all" thing. After all, 14 year old girls should only be used as sex slaves. To think they should even be allowed outside is so 20th century...

Of course this is only a proposed update at this point and General Allen disapproves, so if there is any sanity left in America this will all be thrown out and never spoken of again. I'm not making any bets on that. But on a positive note, the Obama Administration's decision to actively hire retards seems to be working just fine...because this proposition clearly could only have come from a retard.

DC Archdiocese priest-blogger: America is one step away from outright persecution

This is a great article from LifeSiteNews.com about a great blog post by Monseigneur Charles Pope. (With that name I guess he was destined to be a priest.)
.........................................................................................................................

WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 29, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An influential priest in the Archdiocese of Washington has warned that Christians are “pretty well set” for outright persecution in the wake of affronts to religious freedom like Obama’s HHS mandate and the forced closure of Catholic adoption agencies.

Msgr. Charles Pope, the pastor of Holy Comforter - St Cyprian Parish who runs a blog on the Archdiocese’s website, warned last month that Americans are much closer to persecution than many may realize.

“If current trends continue, Christians, especially religious leaders, may not be far from enduring heavy fines and jail,” he wrote.

Pope Benedict XVI’s nuncio to America had made similar warnings earlier in the month. In a Nov. 4th talk at the University of Notre Dame, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò said the persecution of Christians is a reality even in America, though it can present itself in forms that are not immediately obvious. The nuncio charged, in particular, that dissident Catholic professors and public officials represent a “grave” threat to religious liberty.

Msgr. Pope, in his blog post, offered an overview of the five stages of persecution recognized by social scientists. He says it is important for Christians to become familiar with them because “it would seem that things are going to get more difficult for the Church in the years ahead.”

The five stages, as he lists them, are: (1) Stereotyping the targeted group; (2) Vilifying the targeted group for alleged crimes or misconduct; (3) Marginalizing the targeted group’s role in society; (4) Criminalizing the targeted group or its works; (5) Persecuting the targeted group outright.

According to Msgr. Pope, the stereotyping stage began in the 1960s and 70s when Christians were “caricatured in the media as Bible thumpers, simpletons, as backwards, mentally simple, haters of science, hypocrites, self-righteous, old-fashioned and so forth.”

But, in his view, the culture has now reached stage 4 with the state beginning to “criminalize” Christian beliefs. “Stages one through four are pretty well in place. One may wish to whistle past the graveyard but it looks like we’re pretty well set for Stage V,” he writes.

The priest highlights President Obama’s HHS mandate, which forces employers to cover abortion-inducing drugs, sterilizations, and contraception in their health insurance plans.

“But prior to this egregious attempt to violate our religious liberty there have been many other times we have had to go to court to fight for our rights to openly practice our faith,” he says. “Some jurisdictions have sought to compel Catholic hospitals and pro-life clinics to provide information or referrals for abortion, to provide ‘emergency contraception’.”

“Several branches of Catholic Charities have been de-certified from doing adoption work because they will not adopt children to gay couples,” he adds, among other examples. “Many of these attempts to criminalize the faith have been successfully rebuffed in the courts, but the frequency of lawsuits, and the time and cost involved with fighting them is a huge burden.”

“It is clear that attempts to criminalize Christian behavior is a growth sector in this culture and signals the beginnings and steady erosion of religious liberty,” he says.

As Egypt erupts in violence, where is Obama?

As protests in Egypt turn violent, Barack Obama is strangely silent. Last year when protesters called for an end to Mubarak's reign as Egypt's dictator-president, Obama proudly proclaimed that we (or he, as he liked to put it in the debates) stood with the protesters. He said that the people of Egypt need to be able to live freely in a democratic system, and so Mubarak needed to step down.

Well now, as Mubarak has been deposed, Mohamed Morsi has been democratically elected and promptly drafted a new constitution that basically declares himself unlimited power. In other words, he wants to be a dictator.

Now as the people in Egypt are, once again, protesting a dictator ruling over them with an iron fist, Obama has remained silent. No speeches about how the Egyptian people need to be able to live freely in a democratic system this time. Maybe he thinks he made a mess last time and doesn't want to repeat that mistake? Maybe he just thinks one kind of dictator is better than another kind? Who knows? But you'd think the President of the United States would have something to say about it. After all, we do give them over a billion dollars of aid a year.

And where is Hillary Clinton? She was just hanging out with Morsi in order to try and work out a Hamas/Israel cease fire...but now, she's nowhere to be found. She took such pleasure cackling about the death of Gaddafi, but as another man seeks to stamp on the neck of his people, she has suddenly grown mute. Guess that 2016 presidential run needs all of her attention. Apparently, people being murdered in Egypt by a would-be dictator that they helped get into power isn't important enough to distract Obama and Hillary from their vacation plans. Glad we (they) have such a good foreign policy and are helping spread democracy around the world.

C'mon Baby, Eat the Rich!

By now you may have seen the video made for the California Federation of Teachers (is there any other kind?) entitled "Tax the Rich." This cartoon espouses the Marxist Class Warfare that has suddenly become normal in our country. The poor are poor because the rich have taken all their money. Not only is this cartoon hilariously inaccurate, it also uses stereotypes from, like, the 1920's. I haven't seen a fat rich guy with a monocle smoking a cigar since the last time I played Monopoly. And not really even then cause I played Lord of the Rings Monopoly. I also love that a cartoon teaching that the rich are evil is narrated by a rich guy. That's, dare I say it, rich! Here's the aforementioned cartoon.

I have to admit, I only watched like two minutes of that...but I caught the highlights on Red Eye last night, so I know what happens. I find it extremely humorous that two out of the three types of ways the rich got richer-by taking advantage of loop holes and by just not paying taxes-have been used by some of Obama's most lucrative backers. Yet Democrats don't want to close loopholes like some Republican plans call for. So why is it that the Republicans are seen as protecting the rich while the Democrats are seen as against the rich and for the poor?? I guess stereotypes are hard to break. While Obama spews his Marxist Class Warfare, the Political Class live like royalty. Get used to it. Socialism has never formed a one class system. The fat cats in the government, on both sides of the aisle, will always seek to remain the fat cats. Luckily for them, Socialism allows some to continue living the high life while the majority suffers. No wonder Boehner wants on the boat.

I also came across this video by Bill Whittle, which does a good job of explaining why the whole "Tax the Rich" battle cry is nothing more than Marxist drivel.

So there ya go, liberals. Good luck trying to explain why you want to tax the rich after seeing that. With a government that spends $11 for every $7 taken in...you could eat the rich and still not be able to run this government.

Terrorist Nadal Hassan's judge thrown off case

I saw this story a few days ago and have been stewing over it since then. I wasn't even sure I would write this because it fills me with too much anger to properly express with words.

First off, this Islamic terrorist (just because the White House doesn't call him that doesn't mean the rest of us with a brain won't) has YET to even be properly tried. I mean, his act of terrorism took place in 2009! That's three freakin' years! At this rate, we'll colonize Mars before this trial concludes.

And what is the big holdup? The terrorist's beard.

He's in the Army. The Army doesn't allow beards. He's not allowed to have a beard because he's in the Army.

It's a 2+2=4 thing...and yet, it's caused a delay that makes air travel look speedy by comparison.

He didn't have a problem shaving every day for his entire Army career, yet now he's thrown away his razor in order to be a good Muslim. So was he a bad Muslim for his entire life until now? Was murdering innocent people the event that made him into a good Muslim?

And now the judge who ordered him to shave or be shaved (rightfully so) has been thrown off the case, and the entire beard issue will be brought up again...whenever it is the Army appoints a new judge to the case. All the while our taxpayer dollars go to this farce. But I guess when a terrorist attack is labeled as "workplace violence" by our government leaders, it only makes sense to expect the whole thing to be a clown show.

Full story here.

But at least, as Craig Andresen points out at The National Patriot, the Army just confirmed that it is ok to display religious symbols on government property. Just in time to put up those Christmas displays!

The New KKK

The buzz word of the weekend was apparently 'guns' as I read multiple stories about guns and their dangers and how we should control them.

Bob Costas' rant at halftime of last night's football game is the hot topic today. I missed it myself, but I've been reading about it today. Apparently Bob, quoting Kansas City-based writer Jason Whitlock said that the NRA is the new KKK, as no white person has ever been killed with a gun in the history of America. Stunningly, he also said that "if Jovan Belcher didn't possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would still be alive today."

Are. You. Serious? Have you ever known someone who was suffering from severe mental problems? It doesn't sound like Bob or Jason Whitlock ever have. I have. And let me tell you, the absence of a gun is no deterrent of deep mental disillusions. As if any person suffering from such problems, when unable to find a gun, is simply cured and suffers no more thoughts of suicide or violence. As someone who's known people that have attempted suicide, Jovan Belchers actions are disturbing, sad, and tragic. But to place the onus on guns instead of the actual problems this man was having belittles his problems and distracts from the real issues that we should be talking about. It does a tremendous disservice to anyone suffering from mental anguish if we ignore the person and focus on their actions. And if you really believe that if all guns were removed from the world that murders and suicides would never happen again...well then you're an idiot. There's really nothing more to be said than that.

Another story that caught my attention was the arrest of an 11-year old boy on the Lower East side of Manhattan that took place last week. The boy's crime: he had a black, plastic prop gun in his backpack. Apparently the boy was supposed to be a cowboy in a play at an East Village theater and the theater had given him the prop gun. Well...we can't have children carrying around fake guns, so the school called the police, the boy was handcuffed and hauled off downtown. That'll teach him!

I mean...can our society get any stupider? It was a prop. It wasn't even a BB gun, which the school claimed it was. But to have the cops handcuff him and drag him off to the police station?? Dudes can sell drugs on the street corner and not get such treatment! But an 11-year old with a fake gun, well he is a danger to us all! The boy was also suspended and forced to attend an "alternative-learning facility" in Harlem for two weeks. So basically an otherwise innocent kid was forced into a group of kids with actual behavioral problems. Brilliant.

The child is now trumatized, afraid to go back to school and scared of cops. Awesome. If only they could start arresting kids for eating candy, then they might finally be able to end all the problems in New York City.

Islamophobia? Don't make me laugh!

Straight up stolen from Patriot's Corner.

Pat Condell puts Islamophobia in its place.

And what's up with adding the word "phobia" to everything nowadays? Phobia means fear. I'm not afraid of Islam, I just don't like it. Get it straight.
