I first saw this a few months ago, and really just filed it away. I don't believe everything I see on the Internet. But with today's breaking news that the NSA has been collecting phone records, emails, and Internet posts, this guy's story becomes not only believable, but credible. The government is watching you. And violating the Constitution of the United States of America. Now, will enough people care? That is the real question.

Now We Know
As Senator Paul stood on the Senate floor for just under 13 hours, fighting to bring attention to the erosion of our rights as Americans, he was joined by fellow senators. But only a handful. 14 Republican senators stood behind, and with, Rand Paul as he tried to defend the Constitution. Only 1 Democrat senator did. 15. 15 (16 including Paul) out of 100 chose to go against their parties, president, and the status quo in order to try and make sure Americans retain their rights. That is a staggering number. Yet many of us have believed for a long while that most of our representatives in Congress are sell outs. Now we know who they are. Republican or Democrat, it does not matter. What matters is our Constitution which defends our Freedom. Either you are fighting for it, or you are fighting against it.
Those fighting for it include: Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Pat Toomey (R-Penn.), John Thune (R-S.D.), John Barrasso (R-Wy.), Tim Scott (R-S.C.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.).
The Blaze also reports that Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) was in attendance and supported Paul’s filibuster by bringing the senator a thermos and an apple, a likely reference to “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.” However, Kirk, who recently returned to the Senate after suffering a stroke, did not speak during the filibuster. The Blaze article also has a full list of the other 32 Republican senators who did not choose to join the filibuster.
Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) was the only Democrat to support the filibuster, much to the chagrin of liberals who, whaddaya know, also don't want drones killing Americans without due process on U.S. soil. The ACLU and John Cusack were discouraged at the lack of Democrat support.
I think we all are a little discouraged that the men and women we elect to defend our rights are willing to so easily sell us down the proverbial river, but at least now we know who we can trust to stand up for us and who we can't. My advice: Don't ever vote for anyone not on that list again. Rand Paul's filibuster may not have achieved much, but it has exposed the dirty politicians from the (relatively) clean ones. Now we know who to trust. And as G.I. Joe taught me: knowing is half the battle.
(It should be noted that a number of representatives from the U.S. House also attended to support the filibuster, but I have yet to find a definitive list of who as of yet. If I do, I will update with it.)
UPDATE: In an op-ed Paul wrote for the Washington Post, he included the members of Congress who stood with him during his filibuster. Sixteen House Republicans showed up in the Senate to show solidarity. They are: Louis Gohmert (TX), Thomas Massie (KY), Justin Amash (MI), Ron DeSantis (FL), Doug LaMalfa (CA), Garland Barr (KY), Trey Radel (FL), Michael Burgess (TX), Jim Bridenstine (OK), Raul Labrador (ID), Keither Rothfus (PA), Paul Gosar (AZ), Steve Daines (MONTANA), Bill Huizenga (MI), Richard Hudson (NC), and David Schweikert (AZ). It should also be noted that Senator Angus King, an Independent from Maine, also stood on the floor in support of Paul.

Rand Paul - The Last American?
"Are we so complacent with our rights that we would allow a president to say he might kill Americans?"
That is the crux of what was an almost 13 hour filibuster by Kentucky Senator Rand Paul that began just before noon yesterday and ended well after midnight tonight. A rare "talking filibuster" by Paul held up the confirmation hearing of CIA head nominee John Brennan, but the filibuster had little to do with Brennan himself and everything to do with the frightening drone policy that is being implemented by the Obama Administration. Rand Paul asked a simple question that deserves a simple answer. Does the Executive Branch of our government have the right to kill Americans on American soil with drones, and if so, by what guidelines? Senator Paul was driven to hold up Senate proceedings until he was given an adequate answer to that simple question...and he may have done so well into tomorrow if not for the need of a bathroom break. (For the life of me I don't know how he made it nearly 13 hours without one!) His numerous requests for an answer to that simple question were all ignored or skirted by the President, Attorney General Eric Holder, and John Brennan. And so Paul held up the Senate to make it known that this is an important issue, maybe the most important of our time. Because if the Executive Branch can ignore the 5th Amendment, then it can ignore them all and we are two steps away from outright dictatorship.
Because of the length of the filibuster, the issue was brought to light. Infamously liberal groups like the ACLU and the Huffington Post agreed with Rand Paul. Yet, I fear that the answer to the question above is a deafening 'yes.' The majority of Americans are too complacent with our rights. As Greg Gutfeld said, President Obama has been gifted with the most distracted society since Ancient Rome (and we all know how that turned out). Instead of Bread and Circuses we have Beyonce and Siri. I believe history does repeat itself. And I'm also starting to believe Mark Twain was right in saying that nothing can be done to stop that; that man's nature only leads to the repeating of history's mistakes. Looking at today's America, how can one come to any other conclusion? Rand Paul may very well be the last American standing.

Martial Law in the U.S.? All signs point to yes.
I haven't really written much here lately, because I haven't found much worth writing about. The news stays relatively the same: the United States is slipping into a Communistic third world dystopia. The Democrats are working hard to strip Americans of freedoms. The Republicans are feigning dismay while quietly pushing for the same. Only a handful of Congressmen and Women are actively trying to slow the decay.
But it's a pointless fight.
This country was predicated on the will of the people. It still is to a degree. But the majority of U.S. citizens are either too concerned with what celebrity wore what to what award show or too uninformed about what's going on within our government to understand just where we seem to be headed. For the small amount of citizens who are aware and concerned, there's not really anything new to them and not really anything that can be done to change it. So, I for one, have been concentrating on more personal matters. I believe a lot of us are these days. We're keeping our family and friends close and our supplies closer. It's funny how those who are actively preparing for any number of disasters are looked upon as fools...yet if/when it hits the fan, who's going to be the fool then?
As to where exactly we are headed, well I can only point to the signs. The signs like the Indefinite Detention clause in the NDAA (which Obama has given his word that he will never use...forgive me if I'm unswayed), that gives the government the legal right to arrest and hold any American citizen for an indefinite amount of time with no trial. That means they don't ever need proof to lock up citizens for life.
Then there's the Drone Strike controversy in which the White House has said that they have the legal right to kill American citizens with drones...again, without any proof needed. And more disturbing is that John Brennan, the man Obama wants to be the next head of the CIA, has refused to answer whether they could use drones on Americans on American soil.
And I'm sure by now most have heard about the Department of Homeland Security's purchase of 2 billion rounds of ammunition...a majority of that hollow point bullets that are NOT used for simple target practice because of their price. However, a new story is the $2 million worth of "No Hesitation" targets that the DHS has purchased for its target practice. Those include an old man, a pregnant woman, and a child. Now why on the good green earth would the government need targets of pregnant women and children!?? They've said it's because they need to prepare their new recruits for their new job. So apparently their new job will be shooting at American citizens, including women, children, and the elderly.
A year ago if you would have told me that the United States government was preparing for Martial Law, I would have laughed in your face. Now, all a thinking man can surmise is that that is exactly what they are preparing for. Why, when, or how is anybody's guess. But as of right now, all signs point directly to Martial Law. Only a fool would be unprepared.

Rumblings of Dictatorship
Hey all. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and holiday break! I got a sinus infection for Christmas, so have been a little out of it the past couple of weeks. There seems to be so much going on it's hard to keep track of it all. One thing that remains certain is Obama's paving the way for a future American dictator. A lot of people seem to think Obama wants to be dictator himself. I disagree with that, but I definitely think he's setting the stage for a future dictator to emerge.

Obama: "Election has nothing to do" with deaths of Americans in Libya
Friday was a bad day for Barack Obama. First, the news comes out that CIA operators were told to "stand down" when they wanted to go to the consulate in Benghazi to try and help the Ambassador and other Americans there...then in an interview with an NBC affiliate in Denver, the president, when asked about those reports, responded by saying:
"The election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened."
Um...excuse me, Mr. President?? The election has nothing to do with a terrorist attack that took the lives of 4 Americans, your inability or unwillingness to send in rescuers who might've been able to save them, your lies about the attack which lasted for weeks (which you yourself have now confirmed), and your subsequent coverup/dodging of the issue as more reports come out?? What DOES the election have to do with, Big Bird and birth control?
I'm increasingly distraught that ANYONE in America continues to support this man. Some people would support him no matter what...he could strangle a puppy while kicking a baby in the head on national television and there would still be some morons gushing about how great he is! What worries me is that it seems like that number is astronomically high. Either that or an astronomically high number of people just don't pay attention to anything he says or does. Which is why my Facebook page has been drowned recently with articles and stories of his atrocities. But how can this election even be close? I'm beginning to believe an article I read a while ago that said Obama is trying to lose the election; that he hates the responsibility and is passive aggressively trying to derail his re-election by speaking and acting stupidly. That, at least, is a good explanation of how he can be so flippant about important issues. The sad thing is that it isn't dissuading people like it should. If Romney doesn't win this election big...I will lose heart about the state of America and it's future. Because either there are way too many idiots here, or there are way too many people so self-absorbed that nothing that doesn't affect them matters to them. Either way it's bad for America.
But back to this "Libya thing"...because it DOES matter to millions of Americans. Among them are Charles Woods, the father of one of the ex-Navy SEAL's, Tyrone Woods. He is beginning to speak out against the president and his response to this attack. Mr. Woods also has been talking about his meeting with President Obama and Hillary Clinton when his son's body was flown into Andrews Air Force Base. His description of the meeting is disturbing, to say the least. He says President Obama didn't look him in the eyes and merely mumbled some words about being sorry which, to Mr. Woods, sounded insincere and forced. He says Clinton's apology also sounded hollow and forced and that...and this is shocking...she told him that they would find the man who made the anti-Islam film and HAVE HIM ARRESTED! There's almost too much there to properly analyze. First, it was a misguided response. How about getting the terrorists who actually did the killing!? Second, saying you're going to have an American citizen arrested for making a movie is INSANE and against everything America stands for! And the fact that he was, in fact, arrested is disturbingly scary. He was arrested on charges of probation violation, so I had no ground to complain on because he may have very well violated his probation. However, NOW knowing that Hillary said this before he was arrested either means A) they (meaning the federal government) had already begun researching this man to know that he was on probation or B) they had planned to arrest him ILLEGALLY based simply off his making this film.
I'd say someone needs to look more closely at who that man is, what he had done to get on probation in the first place, and who decided he had violated his probation. Because pledging to arrest a man ONLY based on the knowledge that he produced a movie is unconstitutional and illegal. I doubt that we'll get an answer to these things as he's almost become an afterthought. He's also still in jail. How long will he stay there for a "probation violation?" We need to keep an eye on that.
This has gotten long (because there's just SO many things to discuss about it!) so I'll end it now by talking about Tyrone Woods. He was stationed at the "annex," about a mile from the consulate where Ambassador Stevens was killed. When he heard the shots and explosions happening at the consulate, he (along with other unnamed heroes) requested to go to the consulate to help their countrymen. They were denied that request at least twice. But they ignored it, and Tyrone Woods was one of a few men who made their way to the consulate, secured the area for a time while they evacuated personnel, and made their way back to the annex...where, in a mortar attack about 4 hours later, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed. Those two men should be alive today. They died about 6 hours after the assault began...more than enough time to get larger response forces there. Charles Woods said he received an email from one person who was in the consulate that night. It said that his son, Tyrone, saved his life. Tyrone Woods ignored his orders to stand down and went to that consulate...saving lives. Tragically his was lost as others made decisions antithetical to his: they chose to ignore his peril. Tyrone Woods is a real American hero. And I, for one, will never forget his story. Nor will I forget Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, and Glen Doherty. And that's why their death DOES and SHOULD matter to this election, despite the president's insistence that it doesn't.

Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally
Next Saturday at sites all across this country, hundreds of thousands of people will gather to stand up against the HHS Mandate of Obamacare. This mandate will force businesses to provide contraception, sterilization, and abortion inducing pills despite an opposition to such things. Not only is this mandate a larger part of what many feel is an unconstitutional Health Care law that forces citizens to buy a good or face a penelty...the mandate itself will force people to make a choice between their conscience and the law.
There are already 33 lawsuits that have been filed against the federal government by businesses and organizations on the grounds that this mandate violates the First Amendment right to religious liberty. Numerous religious organizations oppose this mandate because they oppose being forced to provide employees with medical coverage for things they believe to be wrong. Whatever your feelings on abortion and sterilization and contraceptives, the matter of most concern is whether the government has the right to force you to do something that you feel is wrong. The First Amendment protects religious liberty...but now this HHS Mandate is forcing people to violate their religious beliefs or be penelized. How is that liberty?
It is true that there is a "religious exemption" for religious institutions. However, the exemption dictates what is or is not considered a religious institution...and the qualifications are so stringent that even Jesus and His apostles wouldn't be given the exemption. Basically to get the exemption, your organization must ONLY provide services to people of your faith. That means that hundreds of universities, hospitals, and social services run by religious groups DO NOT qualify for the exemption. The government has made the claim that such employers will not have to pay to provide any services they disapprove of. They claim that employees can get those services from their insurance company and not their employers. But it's the employers who have to pay the insurance companies that will provide those services...so it's still the employer's money that will be providing the services.
For the federal government to run roughshod over religious organizations beliefs in an attempt to provide free health care is a direct and unmitigated attack on religious liberty. Millions of people all across this country feel the same. Some of us will gather at the third Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally next Saturday to stand in solidarity against this assault.
The first two Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rallies were held on March 23 and June 8. Over 300 rallies were held in cities and towns across the country, with attendance topping 125,000.The third will be held on October 20th at noon and is expected to garner an even bigger number of attendees as the word of these rallies grows. Over 130 cities in 42 states will be holding rallies to stand up for religious freedom and against our government's continued intrusion into our private lives. No one should be forced to do something that violates their conscience. In a land where we allow people to refuse to face the flag during the National Anthem and we've removed the Pledge of Allegiance from schools because people have complained, does the federal government have the right to force us to do something we don't agree with? I say no. And I'll be voicing that belief next week at my local Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally. Arrested for praying in front of White House
This weekend, dozens of people were arrested for kneeling in prayer on the sidewalk in front of the White House. The group of people were protesting the new Health Care Mandate, otherwise known as Obamacare. Religious leaders across the country are opposed to their tax dollars or insurance fees being used to fund abortions and other contraceptives. Groups have gathered in front of the White House to pray and protest...and be arrested...all year long. In February, six people including a Catholic priest were also arrested for kneeling in prayer on the White House sidewalk. They were released soon after, having to pay a $100 fine.
Apparently, the area in front of the White House is considered a "restricted zone" which limits the rights set forth in the Constitution. Protesting is ok as long as you keep moving, as explained by Fr. Denis Wilde, the priest arrested in February, but if you remain stationary, like when you kneel, then you will be arrested and charged with failure to obey a lawful order. Yeah, I'm sure that's what the Founders of the Constitution had in mind...freedom of religion and right to peaceably assemble...except in certain areas. Well tell me, if certain public places can be determined to be "restricted zones" then what is stopping them from expanding restricted zones to include every public place?? Apparently, nothing. Or moreso, no one. Reading history about Nazi Germany, you find that the people there also gave up their rights easily. How'd that work out?
Today I received this picture on Facebook. These four girls were among those arrested. How mind-blowing is it that hardened, dangerous criminals can avoid arrest, yet teenage girls who stop to pray can be handcuffed and whisked off to jail. Good job, America. At least we're making the streets safer.
And this isn't just an Obama problem or a Democrat problem. It's a systematic government problem. I don't see any Republicans denouncing people being arrested for praying either. The government has gotten too big for the Constitution. And our only options are to scrap it, or to get the government under control. Unfortunately, we're leaning more to the "scrap it" side. And I'm not sure enough people care to change that. It looks more and more like America is on it's last legs. We should all be kneeling in prayer in front of the White House, for our children's sake if not our own. But watching T.V. is so much more fun. Apparently, the area in front of the White House is considered a "restricted zone" which limits the rights set forth in the Constitution. Protesting is ok as long as you keep moving, as explained by Fr. Denis Wilde, the priest arrested in February, but if you remain stationary, like when you kneel, then you will be arrested and charged with failure to obey a lawful order. Yeah, I'm sure that's what the Founders of the Constitution had in mind...freedom of religion and right to peaceably assemble...except in certain areas. Well tell me, if certain public places can be determined to be "restricted zones" then what is stopping them from expanding restricted zones to include every public place?? Apparently, nothing. Or moreso, no one. Reading history about Nazi Germany, you find that the people there also gave up their rights easily. How'd that work out?
And this isn't just an Obama problem or a Democrat problem. It's a systematic government problem. I don't see any Republicans denouncing people being arrested for praying either. The government has gotten too big for the Constitution. And our only options are to scrap it, or to get the government under control. Unfortunately, we're leaning more to the "scrap it" side. And I'm not sure enough people care to change that. It looks more and more like America is on it's last legs. We should all be kneeling in prayer in front of the White House, for our children's sake if not our own. But watching T.V. is so much more fun. And we certainly can't afford to miss who wins American Idol. Our children can fend for themselves.

White House demands Military Prisons for Americans under NDAA
It's getting exhausting. Everyday, I read or hear about something this Administration is doing or pushing that is unconstitutional and dangerous to our freedoms as Americans.
Now there's this report, that the White House is asking for an immediate stay on a ruling by a federal judge last week in order to reaffirm the president's power to indefinitely detain Americans without charge. Did you get that? THE PRESIDENT'S POWER TO INDEFINITELY DETAIN AMERICANS WITHOUT CHARGE!
Last week, U.S. District Court Judge Katherine Forrest made permanent the injunction she originally declared temporary in May. Immediately the Obama Administration declared they would appeal the ruling, and this past Monday, they followed through. The White House filed an emergency stay in federal appeals court in an effort to get the Second Circuit Court of Appeals to strip the ruling, thus reaffirming the president's power as set forth by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, or the NDAA. If the stay is granted, the Administration would continue to have indefinite detain powers until the appeal is heard. Apparently, this is causing a stand-off between the executive and judiciary branches, as reported by Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist who is listed as a plaintiff and has seen this type of broad power used against citizens in other countries.
So there you go people. Our checks and balances which protect us from the president becoming a dictator are being pushed to the limit. President Obama is not accepting the judiciary check on his power, and is trying hard to find ways around it.
Now it's being reported that this power is important as a protection against terrorists, and that it's especially needed now because the violent wave of Muslim protests against an anti-Islamic movie may start happening here in America, and that there is currently no other way to detain Muslim leaders intent on causing a riot. I call bogus on that! I've seen videos of Christians being arrested during a Muslim festival for "disturbing the peace" when all they were doing was talking calmly to a small group of Muslim children. If they can be detained for that...then certainly Muslim leaders urging violent protests can be detained as well. So that excuse doesn't hold one drop of water. Rather, I think, this power will give the president the authority to detain ANYONE who voices dissent against him.
THIS IS THE SAME THING THE NAZIS DID! They used the excuse of protecting the people from dangerous, radical Communists...and eventually used that power to detain anyone who didn't fit their plan or argued against them. WAKE UP AMERICA! When our government can rightly be compared to the Nazis....we are in some serious need of a change!
